Despite still being hungover from St. Patrick's Day, The Mermen were able to hang around longer than expected but eventually fell to the first place Skins. A new center provided to be a difficult adjustment for quarterback Tom Heedles as the game started off on the first possesion with a safety.

The Mermen were able to move the ball on the Skins defense with a few long scrambles by Steve Roman. Elijah proved to be the difference maker on the defensive line recording five sacks in a game coming two shy of eclipsing the single game record held by Tommy D.
